Do student loans require a credit check?

If I take out a student loan, will the creditor perform a credit check?

I heard that the government give loans that are paid back automatically from your salary when you earn over a certain amount. True? Do they need a credit check then?

Credit checks aren’t used unless they are private loans.
Loans are based on need, not credit reports, when a FAFSA form is filled out to determine what your benefits are.

How Does a Credit Check Work?

Posted by: admin | Comments (5)

What is a credit check?

When you apply for a loan, credit card, store card or mortgage, the lender will conduct a credit check before approving your application. To define, a credit check is the process of judging the creditworthiness of the borrower by reviewing his credit repayment history. The lender basically examines the borrowerâ??s capability to abide to their financial responsibilities. A credit check gives assurance to the creditor that the lender will repay his loan regularly.

What things are taken into account while performing a credit check?

While performing a credit check, the lender will give you points on the following details.

  • Your employment status

  • Number of years you have lived in your current house

  • Your credit card details

  • Your income details

  • Other loans you have availed

  • Your repayment record

  • Number of arrears, defaults and missed payments you had

  • If you have any CCJ registered against you

  • Have you ever been declared a bankruptcy

After evaluating all this, the lender will make your credit report, mentioning your credit score according to his parameters.

How important is a credit score in case of unsecured loans?

An unsecured loan, by its very definition, is a loan without security, based entirely on the character and capacity of the borrower to repay. The capacity is judged by the credit score of the borrower. Borrowers are not required to pledge his home as security in the case of an unsecured personal loan deal. So, the lender assures himself by valuating the repayment history of the borrower.

Better the credit score of the borrower, better his chances of getting a good amount as unsecured loan. The risk involved for the lender in unsecured loans is pretty high since there is no asset to repossess in case the borrower defaults on the loan repayment. So, to compensate the risk involved for him, the borrower charges a high APR on unsecured personal loan deals. However, if the borrower has an excellent credit score with no arrears, defaults and he has a clean credit history, the lender may offer him an unsecured loan on low APR.

You don’t know how it happened. You pay off credit card debts as soon as you receive your bill. You plunk down rent money on time. You’ve been making out your check to your car dealer like clockwork. So, why are brokers and lenders only willing to give you home loans for women with bad credit?

Bad things happen to good people, and receiving negative score is one of them. It’s even possible you don’t deserve your negative rating. Your credit card company could have erroneously logged your payments as delinquent. This has happened to others countless of times before. Or, your car dealer could have mistaken you for another client whose checks bounced.

    What Happens Now?
If you find yourself on the receiving end of home loans for women with bad credit, make inquiries. Do you truly deserve the negative rating? If you do, don’t despair. There are home loans for women with bad credit. If you don’t, do not take it sitting down. You shouldn’t accept home loans for women with bad credit when you know you’ve been paying off your debts promptly and correctly. Have your credit history reviewed and corrected.

Home Loans for Women with Bad Credit
Borrowing from a subprime market lender is the easiest way to obtain home loans for women with bad credit. Subprime lenders are so eager to kowtow to borrowers they actually provide you with plenty of elbow room for negotiations. The catch is that finding a reliable subprime lender is difficult. Most subprime operations are fly-by-night and predatory. Additionally, subprime loans come with higher interests. This is because your bad credit makes you a financial risk. From a lender’s viewpoint, higher interest rates will justify taking on the risk that you pose.

Another way to avail of home loans for women with bad credit is through the Federal Housing Administration. AN FHA loan is insured by the government. This makes lenders more complacent about giving loans to women who are lumped in the high-risk category.

    Qualifying for an FHA Loan
To qualify for an FHA loan, you must have at least one year of acceptable credit history. The good thing about FHA loans is that you can make as low a downpayment as possible. In fact, your downpayment could even be partly or fully shouldered by a non-profit organization or another government agency.

    Correcting Negative Credit Rating
If your negative credit rating is absolutely undeserved, have it corrected. The following are steps you would do well to follow in having the mistake corrected:

    1. Request for a free copy of your credit report. Do this within 60 days after you were denied the loan. Most people do not know that annually, they are entitled to at least one free report from each of the three major credit bureaus.

    2. If loan rejection is due to the information your credit bureau provided, request for the contact number of the said bureau.

    3. Ascertain how, when, and where the mistake occurred. Then, have it corrected for free. All you have to do is submit your request for correction. You may use a dispute form or a separate sheet. Be sure to send it along with supporting documents, such as receipts or other proof of payment.

There are home loans for women with bad credit. Whether or not you deserve a negative rating, it’s still possible for you to own a house. At this point, it’s not your bad credit that matters. It’s what you do with it that does.

Going to college is a very expensive business and most students resort to taking out loans to fund part of the process. If you are worried about not being able to take out a new student loan now that you are off to college, because you have a bad credit history then do not despair because there are ways around this. Even if you no longer qualify for certain loans there are various options that are available to you that if you find yourself in need of a bad credit student loan. There are Federal Stafford Loans, Perkins Loans, Pell Grants and other kinds of grants and scholarships.

Bad Credit Student Loans: What Do You Need To Disclose?
The good thing about these options is that it doesn’t matter how bad your credit score is as they are not based on a credit check, so you won’t have to answer any questions about your financial status although collateral may be required in some instances but not all.

Bad Credit Student Loans: The Stafford Loan
There are two kinds of federal Stafford loan - subsidized and unsubsidized. These are relevant to all students regardless of their credit history as it is not a consideration. The subsidized Stafford is based on the economic needs of the student and the government pays the interest on the loan. The unsubsidized Stafford Loan is available to every student, regardless of need but the amounts given are not substantial but you can reapply every school year.

Bad Credit Student Loans: The Federal Perkins Loan
This is another loan subsidized by the government which does not require a credit check. Both undergraduate and graduate students can apply with loans of between $1000 and $4000 awarded in any one school year. In total you cannot borrow more than $20000.

    Scholarships and Grants
Nearly every state government gives out grants and scholarships as do many professional bodies so it is worth doing some research, depending on your chosen subject, as these institutions will not be interested in your credit history.

Disadvantages of Bad Credit Student Loans
On the whole it is relatively straightforward to get a bad credit student loan. However, interest rates of these bad credit student loans are higher than a normal student loan because of the increased credit risk. If you have to borrow money then make sure you only borrow what you really need. Try not to overstretch yourself as you don’t want to end up in debt forever.

Bad Credit Personal Loans For Consumers

Posted by: admin | Comments (2)

Bad Credit Personal Loans are usually unsecured loans paid by the credit card companies, banks, shopping stores, hospitals and pharmacies, gas agencies, educational institutions, auto venders, and so on. If a borrower fails to honor his repayments in time, the lapses are reported by the venders/lenders to the credit rating agencies such as TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax in the USA and similar national credit rating agencies in case of other countries.

    Credit History

A lender, who is approached for a loan by a borrower, will first check the borrower’s credentials from these credit agencies. If the borrower’s credit report contains any negative entries, the lender will shy away from offering the loan or if at all he offers the credit, it will be accompanied by a higher rate of interest and also more stringent conditions.

Given this fact, it is better that you check your credit report before applying for a new credit as there may be some inadvertent errors in it. Compare the entries on the credit card with the records of your payment receipts and if there is any error, contest it and have it reflected in your credit history.

The Fair Credit Report Act allows the borrowers to add the corrections to their credit report. This is important because the absence of any positive information may obstruct the procurement of new credit. In case your credit report does not contain much favorable information about your creditworthiness, you should provide the credit reporting agencies the unreported repaid debts, payments, rent payments and so on. Make a request to the credit bureaus to contact the lender and persuade him to erase the negative remarks.

How to Obtain Bad Credit Personal Loans

If, somehow, your bad credit report for your personal loans is due to the late or non-payment of your loans, there is no need to despair. There are lenders who specialize in providing loans to the borrowers with bad credit. In such situations, you should explain to the lender the circumstances that led to the bad credit and convince him of your sincerity to pay back the loan. You should also support your arguments with proper documentary evidence of your assets, capacity to repay the loans, and your income and expenditure details.

Since the money lending market is saturated with lenders, there is a stiff competition to attract the borrowers including even those who request for bad credit personal loans. It must therefore be borne in mind that the lenders are as much interested in providing the loans as the borrowers even with bad credit history are interested in getting them.

Factors to Consider for Bad Credit Personal Loans

Consider a situation when you may want a personal loan for a new car, or, for making improvements in your home. The best thing for you to do is to do some intensive comparison shopping. Browse the net, and you will find that there is a wide array of loans available in the market.

On first glance, they may seem attractive but if you do not study the terms and conditions to the minutest detail, you may end up with paying high installments. It is important that you understand the interest rates, the cost of payment protection insurance, early payment charges or penalties and also some contingent circumstances that may affect your ability to repay. Most reputed moneylenders have their websites that list their resources and also informative articles for educating the borrowers about the process of money lending.

These websites also have pages that give the comparative features of each plan offered by the various lenders in the market. You may contact these websites to obtain their quotations. Some web sites also offer online help and so if you inform them about the amount of loan that you need along with a few personal details that may include information on your late payment of loans, credit cards and so on, they will be able to guide you about the loan that would be ideal for you.

Also let them know if you have been turned down for other loans and also if you have been awarded any County Court Judgment in any case. No important information should be withheld from the lender to because any future adverse revelations will further affect your already dented credibility.

I know you can get cash advances from credit cards but you start to pay interest on that instantly. I want to be able to go to like walmart, buy some stuff then say "and id like $20 too." would I be able to do that? I know you can do that with a debit card but I’m talking about just a normal credit card. And, if so, does the interest start to accrue instantly like if I would just do a cash advance from a bank?
